This three-part series has been designed for Virginia’s principals, special education administrators, teacher leaders, and central office leaders, interested in building a set of skills and strategies for achieving inclusive schools. Dr. Frances Stetson, of Stetson and Associates, has created the content and tools to be shared through this webinar series to solidify the understanding of the core principles and practices aligned with including all students in the school community. Each of the three, 90-minute webinar sessions will have its own set of resources. Participants are encouraged to attend the entire webinars series.

July 9 2020, 10 a.m-11:30 a.m. Session 1: Creating the Conditions for Successful Inclusion: This webinar will focus on the current rationale for embracing inclusion as a shared practice across all faculty and for all students; strategies for engaging in deeper conversations about inclusive education, diversity, opportunity gaps, and shared responsibility; and how to create lasting structures for collaboration, planning, implementation and evaluation.

July 16 2020, 10 a.m-11:30 a.m. Session 2: Supporting Instructional Change: This webinar will focus on the critical aspects of instructional and behavioral services within the context of inclusion. A process for integrating decisions for students receiving special education services into the overall instructional design for the entire classroom.

July 23 2020, 10 a.m-11:30 a.m. Session 3: Aligning Staffing, Schedules and Priorities: This webinar will address the important and specific roles of personnel in implementing inclusive supports. The roles of advance support, in-class support, and specialized support will be examined.

Registration will end when capacity is met. Priority participation will be considered for divisions based on a division’s performance on Indicator 5 for students with disabilities percentage of time spent in general education settings as indicated in theState Performance Plan/Annual Performance Report. Following registration, an acknowledgement of the registration and a link to access the webinar will be sent to your email.
