Each day, children with hearing loss attend early childhood programs. Learn how to identify who they are. Join us for a webinar on improving the quality of hearing screening practices for children ages birth to 5.

Topics for the webinar include:

  • How hearing screening relates to the overall goals of Head Start
  • Current evidence-based practice recommendations for hearing screening with children birth to 5
  • An overview of Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE) screening for all children and available resources to support implementation
  • Resources that support quality implementation of Pure Tone Screening for programs using this method with children birth to 5 years of age
  • Recommended follow-up protocol for when children do not pass the hearing screening
  • Information about equipment options and costs
  • How to find a local audiologist to assist in program development, training, and diagnostic services
  • Resources and opportunities that are available for training and technical assistance
