Training and Reliability Session for Indicator 7: Early Childhood Outcomes

This is a completed event.

Description:

Registration

The Virginia Department of Education will provide a Training and Reliability Session for Indicator 7: Early Childhood Outcomes. The session will be February 29, 2024 from 3:00 – 4:30 pm. It is designed for team members who participate in the Child Outcomes Summary (COS) Process to rate children at entry into and exit from early childhood special education services. This may include early childhood special education teachers; early childhood teachers; administrators; speech, occupational and/or physical therapists; and others involved in the rating process.

The purpose of this technical assistance is to assist local school division teams in completing the COS process accurately and with fidelity. Since the COS process is designed to be completed by a team of individuals who know the child, and thus can provide multiple sources of information for consideration when completing the ratings, teams are encouraged to attend the session together and work collaboratively through case studies provided.

For questions regarding registration, please contact Jackie Kilkeary, Early Childhood Coordinator at the TTAC at George Mason University, at Jkilkear@gmu.edu. For questions regarding content, please contact Dr. Dawn Hendricks, Early Childhood Special Education Coordinator, at Dawn.Hendricks@doe.virginia.gov.
