The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE), Division of Early Childhood Care and Education would like to invite you to attend the Coordinated Approaches for Head Start and Early Childhood Special Education webinar. The purpose is for program leaders to receive a high-level overview of the federal inclusion guidelines and learn approaches on how to partner effectively to support inclusive practices. In this webinar participants will:
- Understand the connection between the federal IDEA requirements and the Head Start Program Performance Standards.
- Understand the roles and responsibilities during the eligibility, identification, referral, and evaluation processes.
- Develop and deepen partnerships between entities towards more coordinated approaches for serving children identified with disabilities.
- Learn engagement strategies for families as they participate in the coordination of service delivery for children identified with disabilities.
- Acquire key resources to support continued coordination and collaboration for serving children identified with disabilities.
