A Five-Part Professional Learning Series for Educators: The Special Education Process
Description:
The Virginia Department of Education Division of Special Education and Specialized Populations Office of Special Education Instructional Services will provide a five-part professional learning series to address the full special education process, from evaluation and eligibility through Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and implementation. The series is designed to strengthen educator practice, support compliance with special education requirements, and improve outcomes for students with disabilities.
After each webinar, participants will have an opportunity to attend optional office hours. These informal sessions will provide a space to ask questions, clarify concepts, discuss implementation challenges, and receive additional support on the topic as participants apply the learning to their local practices. Office hours are intended to extend the learning beyond each session and provide an opportunity for continued reflection and problem-solving.
