VPI-for-30: Using Big Questions for Instructional Support

This is a completed event.

Description:

The book Big Questions for Young Minds:  Extending Children’s Thinking will be used as a framework for this year’s webinars and to support improved teacher-child interactions.  There will be a total of 4 webinars offered this school year (October – January). Participants are not required to have the book to engage in the webinars.  However, Virginia Prechool Initiative (VPI) Coordinators may want to consider using this book as a part of a VPI professional learning community (PLC).

Who should join a webinar?

These 30 minute webinars are especially designed for early childhood teachers and instructional assistants working with 4-year-olds in any early childhood setting (e.g., Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE), VPI, Head Start (HS), Family Day Home). However, any early childhood stakeholders are encouraged to join live or listen to the recorded webinar at a later date.

What if I can’t attend a webinar?

Recorded webinars, slide decks, and associated handouts will be posted on CASTL’s Advancing Effective Interactions & Instruction in VPI Classrooms website..

How can I obtain a certificate of attendance if I participate in a webinar or listen to it at a later date?

Contact the school division’s VPI Coordinator.  Blank attendance certificates will be sent to VPI coordinators to distribute to participants as deemed appropriate.
