Virginia Summit on Childhood Trauma and Resilience- Save the Date!

Dr. Nadine Burke Harris is the founder and CEO of Center for Youth Wellness.

She has earned international attention for her innovative approach to addressing adverse childhood experiences as a risk factor for adult diseases, such as heart disease and cancer. Her work has demonstrated that it’s time to reassess the relationship between poverty, child development and health. She recently published The Deepest Well.

Voices is teaming up with a number of key partner organizations. We are working closely with Greater Richmond Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN), the Family and Children’s Trust Fund, and Families Forward to host the summit. It will focus on both policy and practices that need to change in order to prevent adverse childhood experiences and promote resilience.

Registration will open to Trauma Informed Community teams first. More information on how to register as a team or individual will be shared in the coming months, so please save the date!

A reservation block will be available at the Downtown Hilton for the event. We will provide specifics on how to book rooms and general registration information in early February.
