ODUP 2022 is a virtual event bringing together professionals and parents from across the Commonwealth of Virginia to engage in dialogue, discussion, and learning methods to strengthen academic outcomes for children who are deaf and hard of hearing in order to increase the knowledge and skills of those who can have a positive impact on a student's educational process.

This year's professional development institute for professionals and parents of students who are deaf and hard of hearing will feature Mick Posner, an Educator and Consultant, on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, Hilary Hodes, Project Coordinator for the Virginia Project for Children and Young Adults with Deaf-Blindness, on Thursday, June 23, 2022, and a roundtable discussion by Wanda Council from the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and members of the Virginia Network of Consultants (VNOC) on Friday, June 24, 2022.

A variety of professionals will be offering their expertise and experience in working with students who are deaf and hard of hearing. Select sessions will be recorded. These recorded sessions will be available for viewing until September 30, 2022, on the Whova platform. Participants will have access to these amazing resources beyond this educational three-day event.
